Wow! Thanks to the band’s original drummer Smiley (Joe Mamlin), he found this Underwater People (circa 1995) video from the Cubby Bear in Chicago. It was filmed by our friend Steve Buechele. Both the video and audio are rough, but it’s fun to have proof that this actually happened. :) I believe my website only allows 30 minutes of video (and that might be more than enough :), but click on the Watch on YouTube link to see the full 52 minutes. You have to get past the Blackhawks clip to get to the Cubby Bear gig. Again, Wow!

So, before there was Underwater People (you know, when dinosaurs roamed the earth :), there was Acoustic Diversions. This band was Jim, Bob Perlstein on banjo/mandolin/guitar, Joe ‘Smiley’ Mamlin on drums, and Joe’s cousin, Burke Mamlin (pictured above) on bass. Burke somehow unearthed this video of a 1990ish video from a pre-game Wrigley Field concert we did. The video/audio is, well, not what it is today, but it’s proof that Jim and the boys played a concert at Wrigley Field long before concerts at Wrigley Field were a thing.
